The Grand Canyon

Arles & I spent a few days in Phoenix this week and drove to the Grand Canyon for a day trip. It was the most beautiful and amazing sight. I felt so close to Heaven there. I prayed for Harry, Amanda's father-in-law who was undergoing a liver transplant at that very time and knew that this was as close to God as I could get at that moment. What an emotional time for everyone, having someone you love so close to death's door and having our awesome God come to the rescue at the final hour. I realize as I grow older how precious each minute and hour here on earth really are and I try not to take that time for granted. Thus, one of the reasons we went away for a few days, to get back into being a couple instead of everyone's Dad, Mom, Gigi, Papaw, brother, sister, etc. Sometimes, it is necessary to just take a break and have time for each other. Here are some of the awesome photos from that day trip. Arles wanted to see some animals and we finally did on our way out of the park. What a beautiful "wonder of the world" the Grand Canyon really is. Thank you all for praying for Harry during this emotional time in their lives.
